With reference to your code telegram

of the 27th. ultimo and to previous correspondence on the

subject of the non-exemption for military service of Mr.

R.J. Rawlinson, a clerk, in the employ of Messrs.

Butterfield and Swire, I have the honour to transmit the

enclosed copy of a letter which I have caused to be

addressed to the Chairman of the General Military Service

Tribunal on the subject.

I shall report in due course what fur-

ther action, if any, the Tribunal may take in the matter.
